Yes... and no. It really depends on what type of a writer you are. With me if I hear an accent too long I start to pick it up. I'm not even trying to do it consciously, my voice just changes. It's different when I write, but if your writing is as malleable as my accent is, I don't think you should read more because then your writing will be just like the last book you read. It helps to know what type of writer you are, and use that to customize what you can do to make your writing better.
